Car insurance claim question
..the old lady next door to me has managed to ding my front end with her side ( ooerr) she has 100% admitted its her fault.

Do i put the claim through my company, or do I just claim direct off her insurance?

cheers

Re: Car insurance claim question
If you can avoid going through insurance companies at all then make sure you do.

I had someone hit me, proven by CCTV they were 100% to blame and claimed direct off them but my premium has gone up and I have to declare it every renewal (if you don't declare then they can see it anyway as the computer systems pick it up)
As I had been involved in an accident once in over 20 years then apparently I am now statistically more likely to be involved in another so they charge a load more despite no claim against them. An absolute con.

Oh and you will be deluged by companies telling you that you can claim thousands in personal injury. Still getting them a year later.

Re: Car insurance claim question
Yes claim on yours but if it's gonna be less than her excess maybe sort it out with her direct?

Remember you have to report all claims, even when you weren't at fault and she's gonna get caned by her insurance company plus lose her bonus. If it's a sub £500 job then I would imagine she would be well happy to pay for a fair price decent repair

Assuming you are Comprehensive claim on your own policy. Should be quicker and any issues with the repair you are their customer so they should look after you.
